Reiki isn't just about physical healing. It's holistic, and it may be that other parts of the person are in more need of healing, even though we, as humans, tend to think that physical problems should be dealt with first. Another thing I want to talk about is that not everyone wants to be healed.
Everyone, of course, should be aiming for a full recovery. Still, our motivations are frequently subconscious, and we may have deeper reasons why letting go of sickness or being entirely well is a disadvantage or even frightening to someone. Some people put a lot of money into their health, even if it doesn't make sense to us. As a youngster, perhaps they were treated differently while they were unwell, or perhaps being ill means they don't have to face up to whatever that's going on in their lives because they're sick.
It's not strange that we have complex and even puzzling responses to everything in our lives, including disease because we are all unique individuals. In some cases, people who devote a lot of time and effort to self-healing find themselves bewildered and frustrated when their efforts are not immediately successful.
In many cases, the causative layers are so deeply buried that it takes time for the healing to begin. The sickness often is the lesson that has to be learned—perhaps something that inhibits the person's mobility so that they are forced to go inward and gain understanding and self-awareness.
Alternatively, they may have lost how to "be" since they've been so busy "doing" things about their disease. They may only need to acknowledge their sickness and its effects on them, coming to terms with the reality of their current situation, no matter how painful or unpleasant it may be. They may have been unable to learn the lesson the disease was attempting to teach them because they were so focused on getting rid of their bodily symptoms. Whatsoever the outcome, it's essential to avoid blaming one's body for not complying by not becoming "well" or being critical of oneself or others.
No matter whether you practice Reiki professionally or give Reiki treatments to family, friends, or coworkers, each person you treat may rely on your confidentiality because you are in a privileged position when doing so. Even though you aren't a medical practitioner, they may treat you as such and pay close attention to what you have to say.
However, as I've already stated, you should not attempt to diagnose anyone's sickness if you feel the need to recommend additional treatments to keep them well. In cases when you suspect a significant problem, you should softly but firmly suggest the person seek medical attention in addition to Reiki. Even while you may occasionally want to help clients make positive, healthy changes to their lifestyle and urge them to do so, this should always be done in the most sensitive way possible and without any criticism.
Equally crucial is that you should never promise that treatment will result in a cure or a specific outcome. For most people, the quantity of healing they need is determined by their Higher Self—and that's all you have to do is serve as a conduit for the Reiki energy to reach those parts of their bodies that are most in need. It's immoral and potentially hazardous to promise miracle cures because you could encourage people to hope for something that isn't there. I believe in miracles, but no one knows when.
Another thing to consider is whether or not you should offer Reiki or wait for someone to ask you for it. Talking about your Reiki practice can help people realize that they can ask for a session from you, so don't be afraid. As an alternative, if you always give out Reiki rather than waiting for someone to ask for it, you may end up interfering with the healing process.
Don't let yourself be bound by the belief that you always need a therapy couch and enough time to complete 12 hand positions when you're giving a Reiki session. To help someone in need, all you need is your hands to get the job done.
Reiki can instantly treat many minor illnesses or injuries, such as headaches, toothaches, muscle strains, cramps, cuts and bruises, and so on. Place your hands on the damaged area and let the Reiki energy flow through you. I've found that most of these aches and pains are alleviated within a few minutes, and in many cases, are gone within twenty minutes.
Allow your inner guidance to tell you when the Reiki has finished flowing. There is no set time limit for such events. If this is the case, your hands will have lost all feeling. It may surprise you if you're used to feeling nothing, but you'll still know when it's time to remove your hands. Regardless, the individual you're treating will likely let you know when the discomfort subsides.
Chanting And Toning With Karuna Reiki
The Karuna Reiki experience taught me that toning or chanting during a Karuna Reiki session causes profound shifts in the healing energy's vibrational frequency. The Mahayana Buddhist tradition of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvhara, who creates the Sound that Illuminates the World, validates this notion.
The Ethics Of Distant Reiki Healing
The Second Degree procedures teach you how to transmit powerful healing to anybody, anywhere, at any time, including the past and future. Using the Distant (Connection) Symbol helps you to construct a bridge between you and the person (or animal) you wish to heal.
Guided Meditation To Help Heal The Shadow Self Can Change Your Life
The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with. The shadow self-concept is based on the idea that we metaphorically bury those aspects of our personalities that we fear will not be accepted, accepted, or loved by others; thus, we keep them in the shadows.

Integrative And Functional Medicine —Personalized Care For The 21st Century
The goal of integrative and functional medicine is to get to the root cause of health problems and treat the whole person with a combination of approaches—optimizing health for those who have it and restoring health for those who have lost it. Integrative medicine and functional medicine are often used interchangeably, but the terms are actually referring to two different approaches to patient care.
The Karuna Reiki Attunements
A common belief is that compassionate action is captured in this non-traditional form of Reiki. When used in conjunction with Usui Reiki, it has a powerful effect on its own, but even more so.
Karuna Master Symbols and Their Uses
Other healing systems incorporate the Karuna Reiki Master symbols. For instance, The International Center for Reiki Training incorporates the Usui Dai Ko Myo, Tibetan Dai Ko Mio, and Tibetan Fire Serpent into our Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master Training.
Kuan Yin - The Goddess Of Mercy
Kuan Yin is an example of an enlightened being. Bodhisattva, or enlightened being, guards the earth. The Chinese deity Kuan Yin is revered as a symbol of compassion and love.
Possible Side Effects Of A Karuna Reiki Attunement
Becoming a Reiki practitioner with the ability to heal oneself and others is a beautiful path that allows you to make a difference in the world. While it is exciting to receive an attunement in order to increase your frequency and connection to the universal life force energy, these attunements come at a cost.
The Traditional Karuna Reiki Attunements
Karuna is typically only taught to Usui Reiki Master practitioners. There are four levels of Karuna instruction. There are four levels of mastery in this system: two for practitioners and two for masters.
Original Karuna Attunements - The Sai Baba Reiki Attunements
For those wishing to view the original Sai Baba attunement process in order to compare it to later attunements, these are included for informational purposes only. You will notice a resemblance between these and the attunements developed later.
