This, I believe, is one of the primary reasons why students in Japan undergo frequent Rei-Ju empowerments to improve the amount of Reiki they can channel and aid in the maintenance of their energy pathways. Reiki will remove negative energy and other obstructions on its own, but it requires a clear channel to work efficiently, and the majority of us have a lot of bad "stuff" stored in our bodies.
