Self-Cleansing Techniques—How To Do Kenyoku-Ho & The Reiki Shower Technique

Self-Cleansing Techniques—How To Do Kenyoku-Ho & The Reiki Shower Technique

Table of Contents

Kenyoku-Ho—Dry Bathing Or Brushing OffThe Reiki Shower Technique

Self-cleansing techniques from the Japanese culture include the first three. You can use the Hatsurei-ho, a combination of energy cleansing and meditation practices, daily to keep your energy clean and clear. I advise you to perform this at the beginning and conclusion of each day and night. It is possible to utilize Kenyoku-ho (Dry Brushing), a part of the Hatsurei-ho, on its own as a means of removing negative energies. Using the Reiki Shower, you may cleanse and restore your energy field by flooding it with Reiki. As and when necessary, both of these strategies can be employed.

All of these methods can be used by anyone, regardless of their level of proficiency with the Reiki Symbols. It is possible to increase the clearing process and cleanse your energy body using the second-degree power symbol, which is drawn over each hand before beginning a Reiki session.

Kenyoku-Ho—Dry Bathing Or Brushing Off

This is a component of the Hatsurei-ho. However, it can be performed independently or before the Reiki Shower technique described below. This brushing-off is beneficial as you step into your shower before turning on the water, as the water will wash away all the brushed-off negative energy. However, do not do it when you step into a bath, as all the "gunk" you have just brushed off will enter the water, which you will then splash all over yourself again.

You'll observe that each component has an unequal number of actions—brushing the energy twice as frequently from the left shoulder down to the right shoulder. My natural impulse would be to "even out" the strokes so that all sides receive equal treatment. Still, the Japanese are superstitious about the number four, as the phrase is synonymous with the word for "death" and hence prefer not to repeat anything four times!

The Reiki Shower Technique

This is a Japanese technique appropriate for anyone with any level of Reiki. It entails activating and purifying your entire energy body through the process of absorbing Reiki energy throughout the body, similar to a shower. This technique can be used in practically any place to cleanse yourself. Additionally, it aids in self-centering by elevating your consciousness and lulling you into a meditative state.

  • Stand or sit in a position that is comfortable for you. Close your eyes or partially close them and begin slowing and deepening your breathing until you can maintain a naturally slow and steady rate.
  • Assume the Gassho stance with your hands. Maintain this position for a few moments longer, to use Reiki to cleanse and awaken your energy body.
  • Then, with your hands separated, raise them as high as possible above your head, keeping them about 20 to 30 cm (8 to 12 in) apart. Allow a few moments for the Reiki to build up between your hands, then turn your palms downward, so they face the crown of your head.
  • Visualize and intend to receive a shower of Reiki energy from the palms of your hands that pour over and through your entire physical and energetic body, purifying and dispelling any negative energy. If you are a Second Degree Reiki practitioner, you may see an image of the Power Symbol flowing through you. Three times repeat the chant, visualizing it vibrating throughout your energy body. Similarly, if you are a third-degree Reiki practitioner, you can utilize the Master Symbol and its phrase in the same manner.
  • When you feel the Reiki energy flowing over and through you, gently pull your hands down over your face and in front of your body, keeping your hands about 20 to 30 cm (8 to 12 in) apart from your body. As you draw your hands down your body and then down your legs to your feet, envision Reiki pouring from your hands and continuing to cleanse and invigorate you. Finally, with your palms towards the floor, slowly release the energy from your hands, allowing any bad energy to flow out of your feet and into the earth below, where it can be changed and utilized by the planet.
  • Repeat this exercise several times—three times is ideal—and you should feel cleansed, energized, and more alive as Reiki healing and light permeate all of your cells and fill every part of your body.
  • Reunite your hands in the Gassho posture and express gratitude for the Reiki for a few moments before concluding. If this exercise leaves you feeling a little "spaced," you may find it beneficial to clap your hands once or twice to help you return to a more awake condition.
  • Upon completion of the Reiki Shower, your entire body will be activated with Reiki, your hands will be filled with Reiki light, and you will be prepared to perform healing for yourself and/or others.

The self-cleansing techniques are fantastic ways to keep your energy body free so that Reiki may flow through you more effectively. Ideally, you should incorporate them into your regular Reiki practice.

Chanting And Toning With Karuna Reiki

The Karuna Reiki experience taught me that toning or chanting during a Karuna Reiki session causes profound shifts in the healing energy's vibrational frequency. The Second Degree procedures teach you how to transmit powerful healing to anybody, anywhere, at any time, including the past and future. Using the Distant (Connection) Symbol helps you to construct a bridge between you and the person (or animal) you wish to heal.

Guided Meditation To Help Heal The Shadow Self Can Change Your Life

The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with. The shadow self-concept is based on the idea that we metaphorically bury those aspects of our personalities that we fear will not be accepted, accepted, or loved by others; thus, we keep them in the shadows.

Integrative And Functional Medicine —Personalized Care For The 21st Century

The goal of integrative and functional medicine is to get to the root cause of health problems and treat the whole person with a combination of approaches—optimizing health for those who have it and restoring health for those who have lost it. Integrative medicine and functional medicine are often used interchangeably, but the terms are actually referring to two different approaches to patient care.

The Karuna Reiki Attunements

A common belief is that compassionate action is captured in this non-traditional form of Reiki. When used in conjunction with Usui Reiki, it has a powerful effect on its own, but even more so.
