Just For Today—Living In The PresentJust For Today Do Not AngerJust For Today Do Not WorryHonor Your Parents, Teachers, And EldersShow Appreciation And Count Your BlessingsEarn Your Living HonestlyBe Kind To Every Living Creature

Over 80 years after Dr. Usui asked his students to follow this set of rules, they are still relevant to Reiki students and others. The spiritual discipline of Reiki requires you to work more closely with the Reiki Principles and integrate them into your daily life so that they become a natural part of your existence. By meditating and studying the Reiki symbols, you can better understand Reiki principles and their meanings.

Just For Today—Living In The Present

The statement "Just for today" is one of the most significant components of the above concepts; living in the moment and being aware of what is going on around you pushes you to live in the present, in the Now, which is the only time you have control over. Living in the now allows you to appreciate and marvel at whatever you're doing at any particular time. Being attentive is a Buddhist precept. In other words, keeping your mind focused on the present moment and not allowing it to wander into recollections of the past or fantasies about the future.

Just For Today Do Not Anger

This type of behavior hurts them as much as it harms those they care about. In the worst-case scenario, we get furious when someone or something doesn't meet our standards. Angry people benefit themselves and others a favor.

A long-standing pattern of behavior is a habit. To break the pattern, you can choose another response. In this instance, you can temporarily suspend your rage. Reiki and meditation might help you to develop forgiveness and compassion for others.

Just For Today Do Not Worry

Worry is our natural response to a "what if" scenario—something that could happen but usually does not. Worrying is another habit we develop, but worrying will never achieve or improve anything. If there is anything you can do to improve the situation, take it, but if there is nothing you can do, "let go and let flow." Self-Reiki can help you feel less nervous and more cheerful.

In contrast, when we let go and stop fretting about a situation, something excellent often comes along to fix it out. That "good" could be a person, some helpful advice, a new treatment, or just enough money. Just the right thing frequently appears. So don't worry today. Help promote hope, trust, and confidence using Reiki and meditation.

Honor Your Parents, Teachers, And Elders

This is not just about elders. It means we should respect and appreciate everyone in our lives—partners, friends, neighbors, coworkers, children, shop employees, bus drivers, and anybody else we meet. From a soul perspective, all experiences, pleasurable or bad, contribute to the soul's growth and development.

Also, as the phrase goes, "what goes around comes around," so honoring and respecting others will be reciprocated. So, for today, appreciate everyone you encounter and esteem yourself for your contribution to the Universe. By connecting with the people in your life, you may help heal previous injuries and misunderstandings and permeate all future discussions.

Show Appreciation And Count Your Blessings

Things in our lives require worth and appreciation, as well as gratitude. When life is difficult, and we are going through a "rough patch," our perspective changes, and we begin to believe that everything in life is horrible. We often take our happiness and health for granted. But most of us have nice lives, if not flawless.

Admire a flower or child every day. Gain a sense of life and living. While life has its ups and downs, each incident shapes who you are. So thank God for your many blessings today. Use Reiki and meditation to cultivate an "attitude of appreciation," discover and trust in the Universe's richness, and increase your own belief in your deservingness of it.

Earn Your Living Honestly

This includes paid work, everyday responsibilities such as cooking for ourselves or our families, and self-development activities such as meditation or reading inspirational books. We often mix what we do with who we are, basing our sense of self on our job—or lack thereof. Remember that we are human beings, not human doers. The task we choose to do for ourselves is crucial to respect and honor ourselves by doing our best to create a sense of happiness in it.

Work is valuable only to the extent that we value it, so enjoy even the simplest chores and do your best. "Chop wood, carry water" is an old Zen Buddhist proverb. No matter how spiritual you grow, you will still need to work to feed, clothe, warm, and live comfortably. Honesty in work is being honest with yourself and others—accepting who you are. So for today, work honestly. Reiki and meditation can help you discover your life's mission and live it.

Be Kind To Every Living Creature

As Reiki enters your life, you will feel increasingly connected to “All That Is.” As your consciousness grows, you realize that everything is a part of the Divine, God, Source, or whatever name you give it. Prejudice, prejudgment, cruelty, and indifference have no place in a world where we are all connected, a part of the total, One. Since all living things have a crucial function to perform, they should be valued, respected, and treated with love. So today, be compassionate to all living things, including yourself. Use Reiki and meditation to connect with all living energies and nurture and love oneself.

Guided Meditation To Help Heal The Shadow Self Can Change Your Life

The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with.
