Reiki hand positions for a full self-treatment follow the chakras down the body, first down the front and then down the back. As soon as you've practiced them for some time, they'll become second nature to you. There are 12 hand positions that most Reiki Masters teach. For those who can only use one hand or have a condition that prohibits them from using both, utilizing two hands to do Reiki may be beneficial. The Reiki will travel through the areas of your energy body to which you have directed it.
Before beginning your self-treatment, it's a good idea to take a few deep breaths and let your body relax. You should usually keep your eyes closed, and when you lift your hands to place them in the first position above your eyes, think and intend that you are starting a self-treatment and that the Reiki flows into you for your highest and best good.
a. At the base of the skull, the fingertips of both hands are pointing downward, pointing toward the rear of the head.
b. Place your hands together at the back of your head, with your fingertips pointing toward the crown and your heel level with your skull's base.
c. One hand on the crown of the head and the other covering the back of the head is extremely soothing, but it is not generally part of the standard hand positions.
The heel of each hand is put on your cheekbones, and the fingertips of each hand are placed on your brow.
The heel of each hand is placed a little below the earlobe, and the fingertips are pointing upward toward the top of the head with one hand loosely cupped over each ear.
a. The throat is covered with one hand on top of the other.
b. Or you can cover your throat with one hand while placing the other on your chest.
c. Place one hand on each side of the neck, with either the heel of the hands touching or slightly apart from each other.
a. Over the heart chakra, with both hands crossed over each other.
b. Place one hand on either side of your chest, slightly above your breasts. Toes might be close together in the middle or slightly apart.
Hands placed on either side of the solar plexus (midriff). While the fingers can touch in the middle, they can also be apart.
Your navel should be at or slightly above your natural waistline, so place one hand on either side of your body with fingers facing toward each other.
On each side of the body, one hand is placed on each side of the body, with the fingers pointed downward but somewhat diagonally.
Some people have trouble keeping their palms flat against their bodies when positioning their hands for the back, especially if they have arthritis in their wrists or fingers. If this is the case, you might instead place your hand against your body. Like all other chakras, the palm chakra radiates out from both sides of the hand. Therefore Reiki can flow from the back of your hand as well. This makes hand positions 10 and 11 more comfortable for many people.
a. Put one hand on each shoulder.
b. Cross your arms in front of your chest and place one hand on top of each shoulder.
a. If this is difficult, place one hand on each side of the back, palms flat, about midway between the shoulders and the waist.
b. Place the backs of your hands against your shoulders, as high as you can comfortably reach.
a. The palms of your hands should be flat against your back, with the fingers pointed toward each other and your thumbs tucked into the natural waistline.
b. Lay the back of each hand against your back, with the fingertips pointing toward each other, this time with your tiny fingers tucked into your natural waistline, as seen in the image.
c. With the heel of each hand at waist level and the tips of the fingers pointing slightly downward in a V formation, you can place your hands.
It doesn't matter which way your hands face as long as you're comfortable placing one hand on each buttock.
Because Reiki travels into and through the meridians' subtle energy and physical bodies, every hand position effectively treats the entire body. It affects the person's mental, emotional, and spiritual components, healing and bringing everything into harmony and balance.
Chanting And Toning With Karuna Reiki
The Karuna Reiki experience taught me that toning or chanting during a Karuna Reiki session causes profound shifts in the healing energy's vibrational frequency. Guided Meditation To Help Heal The Shadow Self Can Change Your Life
The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with. The shadow self-concept is based on the idea that we metaphorically bury those aspects of our personalities that we fear will not be accepted, accepted, or loved by others; thus, we keep them in the shadows.
