Codes Of ConductRecord Keeping

Being a Reiki Practitioner may be a gratifying and exciting step to take, but if you're contemplating it, it's usually best to start gently. You can have a better start by considering the Reiki codes of conduct and record keeping.

Codes Of Conduct

A Reiki practitioner's most essential ethical considerations are integrity, respect, and confidentiality. When you treat public members, your "status" as a therapist places you in a privileged position because you will be regarded by many as a health professional. You are not unless you are medically trained; whatever you say will be regarded as "the truth," which is a significant responsibility. A Practitioner should never convey that they possess medical credentials when they do not.

You must maintain all client information (medical records and appointment records) completely secret, even from members of their own family, unless the client consents or you are legally required to disclose it. This may be an exception if you suspect there is a threat of suicide, which you are legally required to notify a qualified health professional, such as a doctor or psychiatrist. (If you practice outside the United Kingdom, you should check the applicable regulations in your country.)

To behave with honesty, you should explain to your client what a Reiki treatment entails, how long it will last, and how much it will cost before beginning, as well as the type of client records you retain. While it may be difficult to predict how many treatments would be required initially, it is ultimately up to the client whether or not to follow your recommendation for additional treatments. However, you must make no diagnoses and make no claims or promises about a cure.

If you feel at any point that a customer should contact a doctor, you may advise that they do so in the calmest and considerate manner possible. For instance, if you felt a lump or an unexpected mass on a client's body when placing your hands there, you would naturally treat the area with Reiki, but you could also check to see if the client observed anything there themselves. You may then recommend calmly that they consult a physician to reassure themselves, stating that it is usually prudent to get such matters looked out.

Under no circumstances should you be tempted to say what you believe it might be. The best response is usually "I'm sorry. I'm not a physician and so have no idea." The best course of action is to have it checked"—unless, of course, you are a physician. While refusing to seek medical advice is not prohibited, you must document that you advised them to do so in the client's notes.

Additionally, clients may be frightened when they come for therapy; therefore, it is critical to treat them with tenderness and respect and invite them to express any questions or discuss any concerns they may have about the treatment. You may then reassure them and allow them to relax and enjoy the treatment.

Record Keeping

Record Keeping

Confidential documents should be retained in a secure location. According to UK law, they must be preserved for a minimum of seven years from the date of the most recent consultation (check the regulations if you live elsewhere). As a result, you should include a provision in your will for the correct disposal of your client records upon your death.

The Data Protection Act in the United Kingdom also applies to your client records and any lists you retain of the names, addresses, and phone numbers of anyone who has inquired about treatments (check the situation if you practice in other countries). You may be compelled to register with the Data Protection Agency even if you don't retain these lists electronically.

The name, address, phone number, and briefcase history of each client should be included in your initial client records. This information should cover any past or present medical issues, surgical procedures they've had, current medications they're taking, and any previous medications that may be relevant. Additionally, you should include any complementary therapies they have received or are currently receiving. In addition, you'll require the doctor's name, address, and phone number (for emergency use only).

You must keep meticulous records of every client appointment, including the date and time, the nature of the treatment, any noteworthy outcomes or experiences, and the counsel is given. Your notes should be detailed and accurate, with no opinions or remarks that could be misconstrued, even if they are offered in jest. Remember that your clients have a right to examine their records if they want them, and they may also be required as part of your defense if you are sued for carelessness or damage. As a result, you'll need public liability insurance.

Guided Meditation To Help Heal The Shadow Self Can Change Your Life

The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with. The shadow self-concept is based on the idea that we metaphorically bury those aspects of our personalities that we fear will not be accepted, accepted, or loved by others; thus, we keep them in the shadows.

Integrative And Functional Medicine —Personalized Care For The 21st Century

The goal of integrative and functional medicine is to get to the root cause of health problems and treat the whole person with a combination of approaches—optimizing health for those who have it and restoring health for those who have lost it. Integrative medicine and functional medicine are often used interchangeably, but the terms are actually referring to two different approaches to patient care.

Karuna is typically only taught to Usui Reiki Master practitioners. There are four levels of Karuna instruction. There are four levels of mastery in this system: two for practitioners and two for masters.
