Attunement does not make a Reiki Master, but it is the first and most crucial step. Reiki mastery is a long and arduous process that humans can never complete since this wonderful, Divinely-guided energy is beyond our comprehension. Instead of just talking the talk, we may work on becoming more and more like Reiki, making it a part of who we are daily.
Is personal and spiritual growth optional at this level? No, it is a requirement. Your journey toward enlightenment will be aided by events that will help you gain a deeper awareness of yourself and others. It is an honor to become a Reiki Master because it means that you have achieved the highest level of Reiki Mastery—the highest level of Reiki Mastery. Even while it may feel overwhelming at first, remember that when you decide to become a Reiki Master, it will always be the correct time for you on a soul level.
As with previous Reiki courses, you will undergo a 21-day clearing process after becoming attuned as a Reiki Master, but this one tends to have stronger effects because the Master energy has a higher vibration. After receiving your attunement, you should wait at least one month, if not six months, before attuning someone else. Of course, you may opt to use the Master Symbol and higher energies for your own personal and spiritual growth and in your Reiki treatments on yourself and others, and that is OK. This is still utilizing energy in some way.
So go at your own pace, and don't worry about how your family or friends feel about it because they may be eager to hear you sing. Do it only when you are sure it is appropriate, and rely on your inner instincts and intuition to guide you.
The personal obligation of a Reiki Master is to deepen their understanding of Reiki as a spiritual practice. There are four symbols and their associated mantras, but the Master Symbol is the most important.
Higher dimensions of your Higher Self/Higher Consciousness can be accessed through the Master Symbol's ultra-high and ultra-fine vibrational frequencies. An intense and lovely enlightenment experience can arise from a profound personal connection to the source/God/All That Is. It doesn't matter if these moments of illumination last a few seconds or a few hours. Their impacts are long-lasting and life-changing.
As a result, you'll be able to confidently embark on the next part of your spiritual journey with greater clarity. While drawing the Master Symbol on paper (which will be burned afterward) may be necessary at first to focus on it during your meditation, you will eventually be able to mentally hold the image of the Master Symbol in your mind.
If you're alone, chanting the mantra can give a truly calming meditation, whether you do it silently in your head or vocally. You may want to try "walking" the symbol as an alternative meditation approach. Imagine a drawing of the Master Symbol on the ground, and as you walk, repeat the sacred mantra that each stroke represents. Outside in a secluded section in a garden or in a clearing in a wood, where you can be guaranteed to be alone, this seems to be even more potent.
Entrust any issues or obstacles you haven't addressed to Reiki, and you'll receive intuitive answers. As a conduit to even higher dimensions, it is particularly effective at bringing healing and serenity to areas devastated by natural calamities. This can be done at some point, but it's preferable to wait until you've mastered all four symbols and have fully absorbed and embodied their energy before employing the Master Symbol in place of the other three.
Other aspects of Reiki as a spiritual discipline include the following:
Before and after each day, begin and conclude by placing your hands in the Gassho position. Drawing or visualizing the Master Symbol and repeating its mantra with the desire that Reiki fill your body and day is next (or night). Affirmations for personal and spiritual healing, guidance, and well-being can be particularly effective when used with this technique.
As you practice Reiki, your energy channels will become more open and clear to receive more and more of the healing energy available to you. You eventually incorporate Reiki into the numerous layers and energy fields that make up your entire physical and energetic existence. Your entire self becomes Reiki at that point, and everyone and everything in your extended energy field are affected by the Reiki vibration. Everywhere you go, you'll be bringing healing, harmony, and balance to the world. When everything and everyone is vibrating to their fullest capacity — spirit experiencing a physical experience — as Mr. Hiroshi Doi puts it, "life ceases to be a struggle."
Chanting And Toning With Karuna Reiki
The Karuna Reiki experience taught me that toning or chanting during a Karuna Reiki session causes profound shifts in the healing energy's vibrational frequency. The Mahayana Buddhist tradition of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvhara, who creates the Sound that Illuminates the World, validates this notion.
The Ethics Of Distant Reiki Healing
The Second Degree procedures teach you how to transmit powerful healing to anybody, anywhere, at any time, including the past and future. Using the Distant (Connection) Symbol helps you to construct a bridge between you and the person (or animal) you wish to heal.
Guided Meditation To Help Heal The Shadow Self Can Change Your Life
The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with. The shadow self-concept is based on the idea that we metaphorically bury those aspects of our personalities that we fear will not be accepted, accepted, or loved by others; thus, we keep them in the shadows.

Integrative And Functional Medicine —Personalized Care For The 21st Century
The goal of integrative and functional medicine is to get to the root cause of health problems and treat the whole person with a combination of approaches—optimizing health for those who have it and restoring health for those who have lost it. Integrative medicine and functional medicine are often used interchangeably, but the terms are actually referring to two different approaches to patient care.
The Karuna Reiki Attunements
A common belief is that compassionate action is captured in this non-traditional form of Reiki. When used in conjunction with Usui Reiki, it has a powerful effect on its own, but even more so.
Karuna Master Symbols and Their Uses
Other healing systems incorporate the Karuna Reiki Master symbols. For instance, The International Center for Reiki Training incorporates the Usui Dai Ko Myo, Tibetan Dai Ko Mio, and Tibetan Fire Serpent into our Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master Training.
Kuan Yin - The Goddess Of Mercy

While it is exciting to receive an attunement in order to increase your frequency and connection to the universal life force energy, these attunements come at a cost.
The Traditional Karuna Reiki Attunements
Karuna is typically only taught to Usui Reiki Master practitioners. There are four levels of Karuna instruction. There are four levels of mastery in this system: two for practitioners and two for masters.

For those wishing to view the original Sai Baba attunement process in order to compare it to later attunements, these are included for informational purposes only. You will notice a resemblance between these and the attunements developed later.
